נושאי מחקר במשחקים ולוגיסטיקה • Resource allocation for defense & law enforcement • The ``inspection game’’: allocate a limited resource to monitor an adversary in multiple sites for complying with an agreement. • Inspection in a network to interdict a smuggler: which ports and/or routes to inspect? • What happens when the adversary can violate in multiple sites at the same time? • What happens when a defender can choose to defend or evacuate sites? • Bin packing and healthcare applications: • The classical problem: how to pack items of different sizes into the minimum number of bins. • Multi-type bin packing – not every item can go in any bin. How to (near) optimally pack items into the least cost set of bins? • Uncertain item sizes – if items are in time units, e. g. , surgeries, and the bins are medical staff shifts, we want to schedule surgeries that would fit in the shifts even if the surgery time varies within some uncertainty set.
