Friday 29 th November 13301530 hrs Last meeting The process of change was discussed and how we require NMC approval for any changes that we make, these include : - • Standards for supervision and practice assessment –https: //www. nmc. org. uk/standards-for-education-andtraining/standards-for-student-supervision-and-assessment/ • Prescribing - https: //www. nmc. org. uk/standards-for-post-registration/standards-for-prescribers/ • Process of Quality Assurance - https: //www. nmc. org. uk/education/quality-assurance-of-education/ Proposals so far and additional areas to confirm, discuss at our next meeting are: - • It is proposed by practice partners that School Nursing AND Health Visiting no longer require V 100 prescribing and that we remove it from our programmes. • Review other HEI N-MP programmes in the region to ensure parity • Mock up a 52 week and 104 -week Degree Apprenticeship year planner • Consider the Health Visiting and School Nursing Degree Apprenticeship once approved (this was approved on 5 th November - https: //www. instituteforapprenticeships. org/apprenticeship-standards/specialist-community-and-publichealth-nurse/ ) Next steps: Paul Mackreth to work upon proposals. Invite LBU apprenticeship team to the next meeting. Practice partners to further consider if V 100 prescribing is required for Health Visitors and School Nurses.

ON DN OLP- Needs to be added to SCPHN “We regularly review our courses to ensure we are offering you the best educational experience. This course is currently being reviewed for September 2020 entry, therefore the information below is correct for students who joined us in 2019/20, but there may be changes for students who wish to join us in 2020/21. These will be confirmed in the course specification made available to new applicants on this page from July 2020. ” And an apprenticeship caveat should be included please, suggested text here but please make any changes you prefer (the apprenticeship is subject to NMC approval) and this may need to be updated when the posts are advertised on the NHS jobs website depending on that text: “Following the publication of the District Nursing apprenticeship standard, local NHS employers are consulting with Leeds Beckett University regarding an apprenticeship route for this course for delivery from September 2020. Until advised, applicants should apply for this Postgraduate Diploma standard delivery route and employers will discuss with applicants their mode of study prior to enrolment. Applicants will be advised about any changes as soon as possible. The new apprenticeship route is subject to Nursing & Midwifery Council approval. ”

Admission process • Jointly recruit to these three courses with NHS Trusts in the region as they have to have a placement to study on the course. For some of the courses this is an internal secondment/taken on whilst in their current jobs (mostly district nursing) and for others they will leave their current job and have a one year training contract and then have to apply for permanent jobs at the end (health visiting) • Places on the course are advertised on the NHS jobs website with a closing date • Applications are closed, download from the NHS jobs website, do a first sort to remove those who don’t meet the entry requirements and send them to the course teams who hold shortlisting meetings with representatives from each trust • Invite applicants to joint interview days at Leeds Beckett and representatives from the trusts are on the panels and we ask that they apply to Leeds Beckett at this point • Interview those successful are then confirmed and their host trust / placement allocated • Make offers through our online applicant portal and the trust send out letters for employment • NHS Trusts complete the pre-employment checks and confirm to us once these are fully completed and we make unconditional offers • Students then enrol
