NIKOLA MILUTIN TESLA

Nikola was born on June 28, 1856, according to the old, that is, on July 10, according to the new calendar, as the fourth child of Milutin, a Serbian Orthodox priest, and Georgine, in Smiljan, in Lika, in the Military Krajina of the Austrian Empire, not far from the border with the Ottoman Empire. He was baptized in the Serbian Orthodox Church of St. Peter and Paul in Smiljan.

He died in New York on January 7, 1943 (at Orthodox Bozic) from a heart attack, very poor and forgotten in his 87 th year of life. When he died he was cremated (burnt). His ashes are kept in Belgrade's museum.

FAMILY Tesla's family had 7 members: Dad Milutin, mother Georgina, Nikola‘s brother Dane, two elder sisters, Angelina and Milka and younger sister Marica.
