NEWTO NS THREE LAWS
NEWTON’S THREE LAWS OF MOTION ➤ Newton’s First Law states that every object will remain at rest in a straight line unless it is given force to change its state by the action of an external force. ➤ Newton’s Second Law states that the velocity of an object changes when it is depended on to a external force. ➤ Newton’s Second Law Newton’s Third Law states that for every action (force) there is an equal and opposite reaction.
VOLLEYBALL
IS ACCELERATION IMPORTANT IN VOLLEYBALL? ➤ In volleyball it is more important to have better acceleration than velocity. Acceleration is used when you are serving the ball to the opponents team, if you serve the ball and it goes over then net the gravity pulls the ball to the ground it will accelerates. Another example is when you gently lob the ball over the net and your opponent spikes it back that is also acceleration.
NEWTONS LAW IN VOLLEYBALL ➤ One example of Newtons Law in volleyball is Newtons Second law. When you spike a volleyball it creates an outermost force that will sting your hand when you try to stop it. Your hand will hurt more if the ball is being thrown by a stronger opponent. The harder the hit the more it will sting when you stop it.
FORCE IN VOLLEYBALL ➤ The force that is used in volleyball is when the player jumps off of the ground to spike the ball. It is using force to push itself from the floor, if the floor did not push back then the player would not be able to jump off the ground.
DOES WEIGHT OR MASS AFFECT VOLLEYBALL? ➤ No it doesn’t. Volleyball uses projectile motion which mean that anything with whatever weight/mass will land at the same spot at the same time if it is thrown at the same angle.
FRICTION IN VOLLEYBALL ➤ There are different types of friction that can occur in volleyball, one example is withe ball and the air. The friction of the air on the ball makes the ball spin faster, spinning balls are harder for players to hit then ones that aren't spinning.
➤ Something that athletes can do to ensure that they will have a maximum result is by making sure that the power the use when the hit the ball is hard enough so that it can pass over the net ➤ The angle of the ball and how it is thrown is also another factor that can be an advantage to the athlete. If the player throws a spin ball the friction of the air towards the ball can make it spin faster making it harder for the opposing player to hit the ball.
SOFTBALL
IS ACCELERATION IMPORTANT IN SOFTBALL? ➤ Acceleration is something important in softball it is used when the player hits the softball. Because of the acceleration of the ball it is able to reach the base before
NEWTONS LAW IN SOFTBALL ➤ One example of Newtons Law in softball is Newtons Second Law. The arch of the softball being thrown shows newtons second force, when the player throws the ball it determines the speed of the ball.
FORCE IN SOFTBALL ➤ The force of gravity is something that occurs in softball, if the ball doesn't hit the pitchers glove or something that will block its path it will continuously go on forever. The force of gravity causes the ball to stop.
DOES WEIGHT OR MASS AFFECT SOFTBALL? ➤ The mass of the ball does not affect anything, since the weight of the ball doesn't change it is constant.
FRICTION IN SOFTBALL ➤ Friction that occurs in softball is when the ball hits the ground/grass to make it stop. The ball rolls on the ground creating momentum and slows down the ball, eventually the ball stops.
➤ The pitcher needs to give a large amount of force when throwing the ball so that it can travel further ➤ The batter needs to hit the ball with the bat at the right moment so that the ball is controlable for them to aim while hitting.
