Newsletter April 2019 End of Spring Term Dear Parent/Carers, Welcome to the last newsletter of the Spring Term. What a busy term it has been- so many exciting events have happened throughout the school. You just have to look at our Twitter feed (or on the website) to see how much has taken place. A definite highlight was ‘The Children of the Snow Land’ documentary – it totally inspired the whole school and was such a unique and exciting event; one I feel lucky to have been part of and offer to our community. Thank you so much to Marcus Stephenson for bringing it to us. It was great to see so many of you last week at our parents/carers consultation evenings – it was good to hear the progress the children have made and of course what they are working on next. And the fun is not over yet! We are all looking forward to the Year 3 and 4 production of ‘Alice in Wonderland, ’ this week. All children will get to see it and tickets have been offered to all families in these year groups. I have had a sneak preview and it looks and sounds fantastic! Newsletter • • End of Term School News… The school is currently full! We have a few families leaving as they are relocating over Easter and wish them luck with their new ventures. I am sure these spaces will fill up quickly. Well done to ‘The Den’ team who were recently awarded a five star rating by the Harrow Environmental Health Department. Our September 2019 Nursery is full. We were very oversubscribed this year, with 64 applications for 39 spaces. This is great news for the school but of course we are disappointed for those families who did not get a place this time. Please remember, Reception applications are different and do include a sibling rule – so please try again for next year! On Friday, the children took part in Earth Hour by turning off the lights whilst they worked. We will be starting tours in the summer term for Reception/Nursery 2020 places and these will continue fortnightly through to January 2020. Please phone Mrs Ede in the office to book a space. Thanks to our fabulous team of ‘PW Friends’ for organising the recent Mother’s Day crafts – so very thoughtful. Spring Behaviour Certificates will be awarded this week – well done to those receiving them for excellent behaviour this term. After Easter we will start summer uniform – girls may wear green and white checked dresses and boys can wear shorts. School Dinner Survey. The results are in and a letter was sent out last week via parentmail. Thank you to everyone that took part. The response was generally very positive towards Pabulum and you are pleased with the service offered. We have listened to your feedback and adaptions have been put in place, including Year 6 pupils being able to have seconds of the main course and our full-time Nursery children being offered hot lunch every day. The new menu starts after Easter so please take a look.
