• NEWS from FOM 24 (02. 08. 2016) • LINAC 2 – 98. 6%, flash over rate increased, 2 hr stop needed (Wednesday morning requested, LHC prefers Thursday morning t. b. d. ) • PSB – 96%, ABT (37%) BI-DIS 3 (Thyratron) & 4 (Interlock); wrong timing ejection kicker • ISOLDE 1 st time staggered beam to both targets at the same time some Inca improvements envisaged, beam steering to be improved (wrong trajectories could have bad consequences) • HRS 95. 3%, main failures from frontend vacuum glitch • GPS 86. 6%, mercury beams went very well for users • PS – 94. 6%, Septa 57 downtime (32%) temp threshold of interlock changed, only east beam affected, 5 POPS trips during the week, F 16. QDE 217 trips often, Tomorrow: RP MTE MD SC dominated by MTE • EAST – good week, nothing to report, users very happy. NTOF: everything good will change experiment next week. • AD – Complaint: drift of injection and extraction kickers: ~100 ns jitter over 12 h - not seen anymore since last week. TE-ABT to investigate. • SPS – 89% ABT: 30 min/2. 56% , FT beam: ABT optimized ZS alignment to lower losses, ABT requested to do this regularly (monthly? ), LHC beams: 225 ns batch spacing re-validated by ABT. Tested with BCMS beam during LHC MD. • North Area – good week, some downtime due to magnets , ripples for NA 62 worse than before • Hi. Rad. Mat: nothing special • Ions: LINAC 3 very good week but ovens refilled on Monday, next fill next week Wednesday. LEIR LLRF operational, EARLY delivered to PS. Several MDs ongoing. PS: setting up, RF checks, non optimized beam can be taken by SPS already. • LHC – 2606 bunches, interleaved beam , limited by MKI 8 - ok last week. • NEWS from FOM 25 (09. 08. 2016) • LINAC 2 – 97. 9%, Source performance investigation took 2 h, no leak detected, performance improved by 4%; additional downtime due to 18 k. V transformer repair. • PSB – 96%, ABT (10. 44% BI-DIS 4 of Monday last week!) wrong timing ejection kicker; transformer repair, source • ISOLDE GPS not running starting now with new Si. C target. HRS 96. 6% (linac 2 intervention) • PS – 94%, Septa 57 downtime (1 h 37, 15%). BHZ issues, MTE at 1 E 13 ppp Iso-dose map above SMH 16 ->IEFC; SPS reports worse transmission of MTE beam each time after MD. ; issues with QD in. TT 2. • EAST – good week, nothing to report, users very happy. NTOF: Very happy with beam - 54% delivered already changing experiment since Friday. • AD – 95% Jitter issues on injection and extraction kickers solved. Com. issue on M 1553 field bus (TE-EPC). • SPS – 86% got the 1 st place one the podium: ABT: MKD 7 h / 30. 4% • North Area – changed T 4 target, had to change back today. • Hi. Rad. Mat: new experiment this week -> beam next week • Ions: LINAC 3 good daytime performance, issues with oven refill on Tuesday – beam only back on Wednesday. LEIR: ABT 100% (1 h 14) Septum 11 & 40, water leak SMH 40 today. PS: QD main issue. SPS: 1 st week of ions issues with MSI current generation. Could not reproduce MD 4 issue on MKD. No indication that RF signal not distributed from Faraday cage. • LHC – 2 fb last week, Access now for filter on TDI BLM, circuit breaker Pt 1, etc. • TI- not present • CTF 3 - PHIN run will start.
