New Zealand contains no snakes and has only one poisonous spider called the Katipo, which is related to the Australian Redback. The Katipo is very rare and its bite is never lethal. New Zealand's most unigue animal is the Tuatara, which is a lizard-like reptile that predates the Dinosaur and is considered a living fossil. Rivers of Australia n The Murray river and its main tributary, the Darling River, are the two main rivers in the Murray-Darling River Basin. The Murray-Darling Basin measures over one million square kilometres, which is almost one-seventh of all the land in Australia.
