Origins: Experiment in International Living 1932 Over 70 years, over 70, 000 participants in high school programs around the world
75 years later: The Experiment has grown into World Learning (VT and DC) Experiment in International Living (global_ SIT Study Abroad (global) SIT Graduate Institute (Brattleboro, VT) World Learning International Development Projects (Washington, DC)
SIT Study Abroad programs based on: § § Experiential learning Homestays and community-based education Intensive Language Immersion Specialized theme for each program, supported by a facilitated learning approach with a variety of lecturers offering different perspectives on theme § Field studies approach to learning in the community: journals, observations, site visits, interviews, local mentor advisors, production of an Independent Study Project
