How much New Physics can we have? L. Silvestrini, ICFA 2008, SLAC 12 th November 2008 Fergus Wilson, STFC/RAL 16
Conclusions n n n n Many of the “discrepancies” have gone away with more data. Some new tensions have appeared. Most differences are 2 -3σ. LHCb will have something to say. Belle still taking data and Ba. Bar still publishing. Historical Note: All New Physics has turned out to be mis-understood Standard Model but…we are entering an energy regime where we expect to see something if the Standard Model is to survive. The flavour properties of the Higgs or SUSY will need to be studied to have a complete understanding of the models. 12 th November 2008 Fergus Wilson, STFC/RAL 17
