New Life Church of God Celebrate Recovery Ministry
New Life Church of God Celebrate Recovery Ministry
What is Celebrate Recovery? • Celebrate Recovery is a biblical and balanced recovery program based on eight principles from the Beatitudes that helps us overcome our hurts, hangups, and habits. It is based on the actual words of Jesus rather than psychological theory.
How did Celebrate Recovery Begin? • John Baker is the founder of Celebrate Recovery, a ministry born out of the heart of Saddleback Church. In 1993, John and Pastor Rick Warren wrote the CR curriculum which has been published and translated into several languages. • In 2001, Rick Warren asked John to become the Pastor of Celebrate Recovery. • In 2008, Senior Pastor Mark K. Richardson asked Associate Pastor Chris Goodwin to pray about launching this ministry at NLCOG.
When was Celebrate Recovery Launched at NLCOG? • Celebrate Recovery was launched at NLCOG five years ago. Through the power of Jesus Christ, testimonies, teachings, accountability partners, sponsors and a safe place to meet, lives have been changed, and people find victory over their pasts.
Who is Celebrate Recovery For? • Anyone who is hurting, has hang-ups and habits that have taken control over their lives. • Most people are familiar with the classic 12 -Step program of AA and many lives have been helped.
