Hatshepsut 1478 -1472 BC • Female Pharaoh Her step-son was too young to take throne (Thutmose III) Many people were upset she took power Many of her statues were defaced after her death • She establishes trade with the land of Punt Brought back many riches Orchestrated many building projects

Thutmose III 1458 -1425 BC • Some scholars believe he had Hatshepsut Would explain why her statues were defaced killed • Much more warlike than his step-mother Invaded Palestine and Syria Stretched the border in Nubia as well • The expanded empire brought new and better items to Egypt

Akhenaten 1352 -1336 BC • Drastically different Pharaoh Appearance was different • Chose to change the Egyptian religion Went from a Polytheistic religion to Monotheistic • The Aten Akhenaten chose to worship the god of the suns rays • People revolted and disliked the change After his death his statues were defaced
