The Court-Packing Bill SSHSUH 18 e • Supreme Court was resistant to FDR’s programs and struck down many of his ideas. • FDR came up with an idea (called Court-Packing Bill): – He would increase the number of Supreme Court justices from 9 to 15. Then pack the court full of people who agree with his ideas so they would pass. • Opposition called FDR a dictator and socialists so he withdrew his request.
