Customer: Minn-Dak Farmers Coop, Wahpeton, North Dakota Industry: Sugar Processing Requirements of the customer: ▀ ▀ Founding year: 1989 Employees: 75 ▀ ▀ ▀ Assess the Siemens network configurations. Properly configure the HRP, fiber, ring for backbone communication. Configure SIMOCODE devices to provide ring reduncancy. Create meaningful names for all network components. Install Siemens SINEMA Server for network monitoring. Short description of the solution: Minn-Dak produces sugar (sucrose) from sugarbeets. Their process has been running in Wahpeton for 40 -plus years. They serve many large customers through United Sugars. Prism Systems was engaged to help after long standing issues with the network configurations. The network was reconfigured to properly enable Siemens HRP ring protocol as a backbone for redundancy, as well as configurings for their SIMOCODE motor controls. After this tuning, their redundancy infrastructure was made functional. An additional component was the deployment of a Siemens SINEMA Server for network monitoring.
Network Tuning: SCALANCE and Ring Redundancy Implementation by the Solution Partner: ▀ ▀ ▀ Contact ▀ ▀ 200 Virginia Street Mobile AL 36603 -2018 USA Phone: +1 (251) 341 -1140 Fax: +1 (251) 341 -1166 Founding year: 1989 Employees: 75 ▀ Impose consistent naming for network devices. Reconfigure and test HRP ring redundancy protocol. Clean up TIA Portal network topology. Implement ring redundancy for SIMOCODE motor controls. Install a Siemens SINEMA Server visibility of network health. Developed guidelines for future configuring of SIMOCODE ring topologies. Benefits for the customer: ▀ ▀ ▀ Improved maintenance and operation of network. Consistent implementation and configuration across network. Localized network health monitoring. Faster recovery from communication issues. Consistent look and feel for components in TIA Portal.
