Ethernet Hardware § § § Star topography 4 twisted pairs (8 conductors) CAT 5 E Max baud rate: 10 Mbit/s Max cable length < 328’ (100 m) § Can be lengthened with a switch
Lon. Works Hardware § One twisted pair (two conductors) Shielded wire § Free topography § Minimum AWG 20 § Total Network cable length < 3280’ (1000 m) § Can be lengthened with a repeater
Network Protocols § Network protocols are formatting rules that specify how data is sent and received between devices. § Protocols are necessary for devices to interact with each other. § Protocols MCS controllers support: § § § Bacnet Modbus Lon. Talk Johnson N 2 MCS
Network Protocols § The MCS Controllers support the following network protocols: Over Ethernet Over RS 485 Over Lon. Works
MCS Network Adaptors § MCS uses different optional network adapters: § Hardware Adapters § MCS-Ethernet (Ethernet – RS 485) § MCS-I/O (RS 485) § Hardware & Protocol Adapters § MCS-BMS-Gateway (Bacnet MSTP, Lon. Talk, Johnson N 2) § MCS-Bacnet-Router 2 (Bacnet IP)
MCS-BMS-Gateway § § Converts Bacnet MSTP (RS 485) to: § Lon. Talk (Lon. Works) § Johnson N 2 (RS 485) Converts Bacnet IP (Ethernet) to: § Lon. Talk (Lon. Works) § Johnson N 2 (RS 485) § Bacnet MSTP (RS 485) Only supports one MCS-Magnum or Micro. Mag Can be powered from MCS Controller MCS-Magnum Micro. Mag Ethernet Bacnet IP RS 485 Bacnet MSTP MCS-BMS-Gateway Or Or RS 485 • Johnson N 2 • Bacnet MSTP Lon. Works • Lon. Talk RS 485 • Johnson N 2 Lon. Works • Lon. Talk
MCS-Bacnet-Router 2 § Converts Bacnet MSTP (RS 485) to Bacnet IP (Ethernet) § Supports up to 30 Micro. Mags § Can be powered from Micro. Mag RS 485 Bacnet MSTP MCS-Bacnet-Router 2 Ethernet • Bacnet IP
MCS-Pocket Router-2 § The MCS-POCKET ROUTER-2 is the perfect travel companion for easy wireless internet Kit Components 110# power cord USB cable to MCS-POCKET ROUTER-2 § The MCS-POCKET ROUTER-2, 2. 4 GHz wireless technology allows 11 n data transfer rates of up to 150 Mbps Powered by USB for extreme portability § The MCS-POCKET ROUTER-2 can be USB-powered to ensure convenient internet access anywhere Easy Setup § MCS-POCKET ROUTER-2 ships with a different default SSID and encryption enabled by default. Advanced Security Features § To provide the highest data security possible, the MCS-POCKET ROUTER-2 supports WEP, WPA, and WPA 2 encryption.
MCS-WIRELESS-4 G § Broadband Router with Integrated Verizon 4 G Modem (Only for use in USA) § The MCS-WIRELESS-4 G is built for your network The router features a built-in high-speed Verizon 4 G EVDO modem. Supplied with one year subscription to MCS Wireless Verizon Data Plan, 250 MB per month. § § § The MCS-WIRELESS-4 G is a powerful tool that is especially useful in locations where there is no readily available internet connection. Combined with the data plan, the MCS-WIRELESS-4 G may be used to wirelessly connect to the MCS-MAGNUM wherever a cellular signal is found. You will receive everything you need to setup communication with an MCS Controller. NOTE: The MCS-WIRELESS-4 G can be used to communicate with multiple MSC Controllers. Email: sales@mcscontrols. com for more information.
MCS-Magnum Communication § The MCS-Magnum comes with two hardware communication ports: RS 485 Port Ethernet Port
MCS-Magnum Communication § The MCS-MAGNUM-DOOR-NEMA 4 Keypad has been sealed in its own frame using a new Gasket (BISCO HT-800 Medium Cellular Silicone). The RS 485 port has been added to the back of the Keypad. Moving the communicating port to the back, adding the new gasket, provides the unit with a NEMA 4 rating. Operating Temperature -4°F to +158°F (-20°C to +70°C) Keypad showing New design, adding RS-485 connection New Gasket Provides the unit with a NEMA 4 rating § RS 485 port on the MCS-Magnum
MCS –USB-RS 485 § The MCS-USB-RS 485 is a USB to RS 485 level serial cable that provides a fast simple way to connect your computer to MCS controllers, MCS-MAGNUM and MICROMAG. § The MCS-USB-RS 485 cable contains a small internal electronic circuit board, utilizing the FT 232 R, which is encapsulated into the USB connector end of the cable. Each cable supports the FTDIChip-ID™ and is equipped with a unique USB serial number programmed into the FT 232 R. MCS-USB-RS 485 MCS-MAGNUM PC (MCS-Connect) Micro. Mag
