Part 1 Background www. medprin. com

When dural repair is needed? During a craniotomy the dura needs to be opened to provide access to the brain. After the surgery, dural repair is needed. MUSCLE SKULL DURA MATER SKIN BRAIN TISSUE Neodura™ www. medprin. com

Indication of Dural Substitute Dural repair patch is used for the surgical repair of dural defects. www. medprin. com

What is an ideal dural substitute? Physical Barrier • Watertight • Non adhesion • Easy surgical handling Long term of effectiveness • Absorbable • Long-term safety Integration Safety • Integrates with surrounding dura • Platform for host dural cell • Non toxic • Hypoallergenic • No increased risk of infection www. medprin. com

Surgical Handling www. medprin. com

Fast and Easy Application Onlay & Suture Neodura™ can be sutured or applied as an onlay. Suture Onlay www. medprin. com

Conformity Softer & More Conformable Neodura™ becomes transparent and blood vessles can be seen clearly. Neodura™ is softer and more conformable than the control group. Neodura™ Control Group www. medprin. com

Tearing Resistance Softer but Stronger Anatomical observation of dura tissue repaired by different materials, at 2, 4, and 12 weeks post-implantation. Results demonstrate high mechanical strength of Neodura™. (N) www. medprin. com

Tearing Resistance Softer but Stronger Neodura™ is of higher mechanical strength. Weak points are shown on the control group Neodura™ Control Group 2 Suture weeks Weak points 4 weeks 26 weeks www. medprin. com

Anti-Adhesion Physical barrier between brain tissue and the skull No adhesion occurred between brain tissue and Neodura™ after implantation. 2 Weeks 4 Weeks 12 Weeks 26 Weeks www. medprin. com

Regeneration www. medprin. com

Promote Rapid regeneration Mimics the ECM structure of native dura The microstructure of Neodura™ resembles that of human dural matrices. Neodura™ Native Dura ECM: Extracellular Matrix www. medprin. com

Promote Rapid regeneration Optimized for implant-tissue integration The fibrous structure provides a temporary scaffold for growth of dural cells. 3 Days Neo. Dura Collagen www. medprin. com

Promote rapid regeneration Optimized for implant-tissue integration 6 months post implantation, Neodura™ was absorbed at a comparable rate to fibrocyte proliferation and collagen deposition. One year post implantation, dura matter was newly formed and Neo. Dura was fully absorbed. Fibr ocy te Musc le Cel Colla l gen Brai n 6 Months post implantation, Massion www. medprin. com
