Nenad Mirkovich nasceu em Belgrado, Iugoslávia, em 1951. O desejo de Mirkovich para expressar seu lado artístico o levou a começar a desenhar e pintar ainda jovem. Trabalhou como pintor de retratos e ilustrador de revistas na Iugoslávia e seu trabalho começou a ser reconhecido no meio artístico. No início de sua carreira, Mirkovich pintava paisagens e cenas urbanas. Depois de alguns anos, começou uma nova série de pinturas, que evoluiu através de seu amor pela música. Biography: Nenad Mirkovich was born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, in 1951. The Mirkovich wish to express his artist side led him to start drawing and painting at a young age. He worked as a portrait painter and as a magazine illustrator in Yugoslavia and his work began to be recognized in the Art circle. Early in his career, Mirkovich painted landscapes and street scenes. After a few years, he began a new series of paintings, which evolved through his love of music. Working mostly at night, he began painting scenes of jazz or classic pieces on the environment. This atmosphere helped Mirkovich to develop his unique style of portraying jazz icons and legends of rockand-roll using color accents to emphasize movement and sound. He was also chief illustrator of a national weekly magazine in Belgrade. Mirkovich received gold medals as “Best Newcomer Artist” in Belgrade, “Best of Show” in Germany in 1982 and “Best of Show” in Italy in 1977. The artist has participated in exhibitions in France, United States, Monaco, among others. Memoirs Since 1985 Mirkovich lives in Houston, Texas, United States.
