Major Events • • What did Nelson Mandela do that was so special? Nelson freed the Africans from the Dutch Soldiers. Mandela only used words NOT war. In 1993 Nelson Mandela won the Nobel Peace Prize. Nelson Mandelas African name is “Rolihlahla” which is also the name of his role model. Nelson has left us with the fact that we do not need war! We can fight with words and not harm one another! In my opinion it will be hard to find a new president that can take this role as a peace maker.
