NEC Phone System Upgrade • • Needed as current system will not be supported by NEC June 16, 2021 8: 00 pm – June 17, 2021 6: 00 am Will use Voalte broadcasts to communicate start and finish Primary UIHC phone system will be offline – Approx 15 k handsets • • Voalte and Cisco phones not impacted Skype for Business not impacted Emergency “grey phones” will be used Paging remains operational – Page to Voalte number if at all possible • Hospital Operators remain operational
Impacted Services All NEC handsets Physical fax machines Elevator phones Old analog phone modems (research refrigerators, PFS, potentially other uses) Overhead paging Slim line phones (used in patient rooms) NEC DTR 1 -HM (used in patient rooms, as hallway phones, a few users might have them… they are NEC-branded wireless phones) • 2500 set (wall mounted beige phones) • Viking call boxes (push a button to request access to get inside the building) • •
