NDIA Security Symposium June 18, 2003 DEPLOY WITH SPEED. PROTECT WITH STRENGTH.
Outline of Presentation • The Need for Decon and CBR Shelters • Applications • Attributes • Complementary Accessories • Operational Issues • Solutions • The Future
The Need for Decon and CBR Shelters Decontamination Shelters are required: - to remove hazardous substances from both civilians and response personnel - to contain the hazardous substances - to prevent their spread into the environment. Chemical/Biological/Radiological (CBR) resistant shelters are required: - to provide a protected area for emergency and medical personnel - to attend to the injured - to establish and maintain communications - to provide rest/recovery areas
The Need for Rapid Deploying Shelters: - Are a critical part of the response infrastructure - Provide a lightweight, low cost solution for Military, Federal, State, Local and private responders
Applications • Military Operations – Provide the ability to continue operations in CBR situations/environments • Terrorist attacks – chemical/biological/radiological/conventional • Fixed Facilities – business/institutions/government/residential • Critical areas – remote or urban, civilian or military/government
Applications: Rapid Deploying Shelters • Portable Decontamination Shelters • Chemical/Biological/Radiological resistant Shelters • Fixed Facility Decontamination Shelters & Airlocks • Alternative Facilities – Continuity of Operations for Medical facilities, Communications facilities, Command Centers
Model 305, 450 sq. ft. Actual Elapsed Time less than 16 minutes
