Lord our God, reveal among us the light of your presence, All that we may see your power and glory.
(Time of quiet to be in presence of the Lord)
O God, make speed to save us, All O Lord, make haste to help us.
SONG ‘Yaweh’
Blessed are you, Sovereign God, creator of light and darkness: All to you be praise and glory for ever.
As evening falls, you renew your promise to reveal among us the light of your presence: All May your Word be a lantern to our feet and a light upon our path.
That we may see your coming among us, All strengthen us in our stumbling weakness and free our tongues to sing your praise.
Blessed be God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit: All Blessed be God for ever!
That this evening may be holy, good and peaceful, let us pray with one heart and mind.
All As our evening prayer rises before you, O God, so may your mercy come down upon us, to cleanse our hearts and set us free to sing your praise, now and for ever. Amen.
THE WORD OF GOD The light in our darkness
PSALM Psalm 45 part 2 (Good News Version)
10 Royal bride, listen and pay careful attention. Forget about your people and the home you came from. 11 Let the king be charmed by your beauty. Honour him. He is now your master.
12 The people of Tyre will come with gifts. Wealthy people will try to gain your favour. 13 In her room, the princess looks glorious. Her gown has gold threads running through it.
14 Dressed in beautiful clothes, she is led to the king. Her virgin companions follow her. They have been brought to be with her. 15 They are led in with joy and gladness. They enter the palace of the king.
16 Your sons will rule just as your father and grandfather did. You will make them princes through the whole land. 17 I will make sure that people will always remember you. The nations will praise you for ever and ever.
Glory to the Father, by the Son, in the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen. Or: Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen.
Lord our God, bring your bride, your holy church, with joy to the marriage feast of heaven, and unite us with your anointed Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

The oceans are full of water. In the same way, the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the LORD. 10 At that time, here is what the man who is called the Root of Jesse will do. He will be like a banner that brings nations together. They will come to him. And the place where he rules will be glorious. (Isaiah 11. 9 b-10; NIr. V)
A voice cries out in the wilderness, All ‘Make straight the way of the Lord’. The time is fulfilled and the Kingdom of God has come near, All all flesh will see the salvation of God. . Glory to the Father, by the Son, in the Holy Spirit: All A voice cries out in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord’.
(Time of quiet adoration)
CANTICLE Luke 1. 46 -55 (Good News Version) Surely, I am coming soon. Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
My heart praises the Lord; my soul is glad because of God my Saviour, for he has remembered me, his lowly servant!
From now on all people will call me happy, because of the great things the Mighty God has done for me. His name is holy; from one generation to another he shows mercy to those who honour him.
He has stretched out his mighty arm and scattered the proud with all their plans. He has brought down mighty kings from their thrones, and lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things, and sent the rich away with empty hands.
He has kept the promise he made to our ancestors, and has come to the help of his servant Israel.
He has remembered to show mercy to Abraham and to all his descendants forever!
Glory to the Father, by the Son, in the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen. Or: Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and shall be for ever. Amen.
Surely, I am coming soon. Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
PRAYERS FOR THE WORLD -For the people met during the day and their needs -For the Church and her mission
That God may establish among the nations his sceptre of righteousness.
(We offer ourselves to the Lord)
All Father in heaven, who sent your Son to redeem the world and will send him again to be our judge: give us grace so to imitate him in the humility and purity of his first coming that, when he comes again, we may be ready to greet him with joyful love and firm faith; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
THE LORD’S PRAYER Awaiting his coming in glory, as our Saviour taught us, so we pray with confidence:
(Modern Version) (Traditional Version) Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be your name; Your kingdom come; Your will be done; on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen. Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory for ever and ever. Amen.
SONG ‘It is well (Bethel)’
SENDING OUT May the Lord, when he comes: All find us watching and waiting.
Let us bless the Lord. All Thanks be to God.
