Background • Started during the 2017 Lakeland Regional as a test bed for the

Background • Started during the 2017 Lakeland Regional as a test bed for the concept of judging modified Vettes • At that time limited to C 2 Corvettes • Now includes C 1 and C 4 Corvettes – C 3 is being created • Dave Brigham has been manually inputting the awards and judging points into the NCRS database

Background (Continued) • Full electronic recording of the judging points and awards should be completed in early 2019. Roll out of Concours judging at the chapter level is expected sometime after the full electronic recording system has been established

Classes • Two Classes: Stock and Modified – With the exception of tires and

Classes • Two Classes: Stock and Modified – With the exception of tires and wheels, if the car’s body and color appears as factory production with the hood closed, it is considered “Stock” – Otherwise it is considered “Modified” – Trim Tags and Service Tags not evaluated • Judging Chairman will decide which class upon viewing the cars

Judging • Originality is not a consideration in Concours judging • Dave Brigham currently selects the Concours judging team for the National and Regional events • Judging points awarded like a Flight judged event – 3 pts for Regionals – 5 pts for Nationals • Point accumulation currently under its own Concours category and is totaled with Flight judging points toward the Master’s point level

Judging (continued) • Pre-requisites - Car must have: – a valid Corvette title – a Corvette VIN • A state issued replacement VIN tag is acceptable for both classes • Cars are judged in the following 5 areas: Operations, Chassis, Mechanical, Exterior, and Interior – Each generation of Corvettes (C 1, C 2, & C 4) have their own score sheets for each area – Only one scoring column: Appearance

Judging (continued) Concours Judging-Deduction Guidelines • Appearance is superior to normal factory production (NFP) – Deduct 0% • Appearance is consistent with NFP – Deduct 0 -10% • Appearance is slightly inferior to NFP – Deduct 10 -30% • Appearance is grossly inferior to NFP – Deduct 30 -75%

Judging (continued) Concours Judging-Deduction Guidelines • Missing (see below) – Deduct 100% or 0% Missing Items: (1) Deduct 100% if an item is missing and requires the team leader’s agreement (2) Deduct zero if the item was removed in the process of personalizing the car

Appearance Characteristics • Surface condition should be like NFP – Free of rust, caked

Appearance Characteristics • Surface condition should be like NFP – Free of rust, caked on oil/grease, chipping paint, pitted chrome, dry rot on rubber parts, color fading, minor scratches, etc – No noticeable wear (e. g. tires, upholstery) • Parts or assemblies should be without noticeable damage – Damage includes bent parts, major scratches and dents, cracks, road rash, tears, etc – If the damage appears to constitute a potential safety hazard in the operation of the vehicle, appearance point deductions up to the full amount for that item must be made.
