Gov Affairs • COVID-19 – congressional action § 1 st COVID-19 bill – provided $8. 3 billion to help states/local governments shift resources to address immediate needs. Also provides funds for federal government to respond to crisis. § 2 nd COVID-19 bill – provides assistance for companies to offer paid sick leave, and assistance to states for funding food assistance and unemployment benefits. (This bill is set to pass Senate this week and head to president to be signed. ) § 3 rd COVID-19 bill – will be a large economic stimulus proposal, details yet to be decided • NCA Gov Affairs will hold a webinar early next week to further discuss action taken here in Washington and what they mean for CACs. (Stay tuned for details) • While Congress grapples with COVID-19, it is also moving forward with the FY 21 Budget process: § House FY 21 CAC Funding letter, which is pushing Congress to fund VOCAA at $40 M, had 65 signers – an increase of 21 name from last year! Great job! We want to also thank our House champions - US Reps Costa, Olsen, Mc. Adams, and Wagner for their leadership. The Senate is now circulating a similar letter. § We continue to push the House and Senate to fully fund VOCA, as well as shore up the Fund to ensure the dollars are there in future years.

National launch still planned for October 2020. OMS for State Chapters • Chapters are currently in the process of updating their state participation agreements and we are doing an inventory of state accounts to ensure every Chapter is actively using statewide results from the program. • We are developing a training module in NCA Engage for Chapters on OMS essentials, which we expect to launch on NCA Engage in June 2020. Postponed: 2020 Updates to the Gap Maps Chapters were previously informed that Gap Map updates would begin the week of March 16 th. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, we recognize that Chapters and CACs may not be able to provide coverage data while emergency situations take priority. We will contact Chapters with an updated timeline when available. In the meantime, 2019 maps are available at www. nationalchildrensalliance. org/cac-coverage-maps/ In addition to county and tribal coverage, we plan to add military installations in the next update.
