School’s History • NC A&T is a public university that opened its doors in Greensboro, NC on 1891 when congress enacted the second Morrill Act which made NC open up a separate school for African Americans. It was originally named “The Agricultural and Mechanical College for the Colored Race”. At first NC A&T was a part of Shaw university but them was recognized as a separate school with the help of De. Witt Clinton Benbow and Charles H. Moore. The name changed to NC Agricultural and Technical in 1915 and it rose to University status in 1967. Their mascot is a bulldog.

Requirements • • • • The requirements for all undergraduate programs at NC A&T is: English – 4 units Science – 3 units: A biological science, a physical science and a science with a laboratory are required. Social Sciences – 2 units: United States History is required as one of the social sciences. 2 units of the same Foreign Language. For math you would have had to take Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra II and one of the fallowing: AP Calculus A/B AP Calculus B/C AP Statistics Pre-Calculus (formerly Advanced Math) Discrete Mathematics Integrated Mathematics IV Advanced Functions and Modeling IB Mathematics Level II

Someone who is an instate undergraduate who is putting in 12 or more hours, who stays in a traditional double dorm, with meal plan A has to pay 4, 948. 99 per semester.

Scholarships • NC A&T offers 6 scholarships: • The Full Ride scholarships- 3. 0 GPA, 1000 on the SAT or 22 on ACT, 1 • • page autobiography, and 3 letters of recommendation. Lewis and Elizabeth Dowdy scholarship- 3. 75 GPA, 1200 SAT or 26 ACT, 1 page essay, 2 letters of recommendation. Endowment scholarships- Did good in High school NCAT Chapter Alumni Scholarships- Show good leadership skills and do good in school. Merit Scholarships- Scholarships given to people with academic achivements.
Average SAT scores and GPA • The SAT score ranges between 1210 -1450 • The average GPA ranges between 17 -21

Honors Program • To join and maintain in the honors program you must keep at least a 3. 5 GPA, • • attend two Lectures and Cultural Events per semester, and have 10 hours of community service.
