Thesis Militarism in Nazi Germany allowed the Nazi party to consolidate power in Germany by ingraining the military into the economy and the culture itself, allowing the people to come together in support of the Nazi government as a whole.

Support one � “Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal struggle do not deserve to live. ” � Hitler gained power through militarism because he showed the German people that he would be a strong leader not scared to fight for the country, and he expected all of his countrymen to fight along with him. By saying things like this he was trying to unite the country through his military platform.

Support two � “Materially speaking, the massive stockpile of planes, tanks and guns that he amassed prior to the war were put on display as a way of showing the might of the German nation. “ � Hitler gained the German peoples support by showing the strength of the German military he was making prior to the war. This made Germans think he was strong and they thought that he could make Germany great again.

Support Three � � “The German people are not a warlike nation. It is a soldierly one, which means it does not want a war, but does not fear it. It loves peace but also loves its honor and freedom. ” Hitler said this in in Berlin February 1936. Before the war Hitler tricked people into thinking he wanted peace, and in doing so he was setting himself up to gain the Germans peoples support of the war. In this quote Hitler does not directly show his strong militaristic ideas but he brings them up in a less radical way. when he says that Germany is “not a warlike nation. It is a soldierly one” he is almost prepping the German people for his radical views down the road.
