Secondary Industries � Secondary industries are those industries that convert raw materials into finished industrial products; it is also known as a manufacturing or construction industry. It includes food processing and steel manufacturing companies. � This industry contributes approximately 21% to Canada’s GDP

Tertiary Industries � Tertiary industries are those industries that provide services rather than products; it is also known as a service industry. It includes restaurants, schools and financial institutions. � This industry contributes approximately 73% to Canada’s GDP

FISH! � For example…. � We get some of our fish from all over the world (ex: bluefin tuna from Mediterranean Sea) � Canada has 7. 1 million ocean area with many, many diverse species (salmon from BC, swordfish from the East Coast)
