Health promotion guidlines for municipalities The aim of the Guidelines: To provide the support and science-based information to municipalities, so they can realize the function - to promote the health of the population. The main topics included are: • physical activity; • nutrition; • addiction prevention; • family health (injury prevention, infectious disease prevention, oral health, reproductive health). 3

Working with health promotion coordinators • train public health specialists in regions; • inform about events; • offer information, materials, brochures; • give consultations; • organize seminars; • share our knowledge 4

Recent activities: work with local governments and municipalities 1) Seminars - discussions for municipalities desision makers, politicians and practical workers - role of health promotion and human capital in municipality. 2) Meetings of Municiplaties coordinators (summary of previous work period, setting goals for the next period). 2) Experience exchage visits: – 2016 Preili City municipality – 2015 Riga City municipality; – 2014 Liepaja City municipality – 2013 Ogre City municiplaity; 5
