Myanmar sustainable development plan (MSDP) § MSDP was lunched in August 2018 § Organized 3 Pillars, 5 Goals, 28 Strategies and 251 Action Plans § To provide a “ long-term vision(2030) of a peaceful, prosperous and democratic country” § To have SDGs localized and mainstreamed § To give strong policy directions with comprehensive implementation plans § To avoid (possible) silo sectoral plans and adopt strategic planning system

How the NIF is constructed-1 Ø The M&E Framework is composed of two main elements: 1) An Indicator Framework, complete with indicators, baseline, targets, and metadata. 2) A set of institutional arrangements or Monitoring & Evaluation System; detailing the roles and responsibilities of different government agencies in implementing the M&E strategy, the flows of information between these agencies and the reporting modalities to higher-level.

How the NIF is constructed-2 ØThe monitoring and evaluation of the MSDP needs to be done at two levels • Action Plan Level (inputs, processes and outputs) • Strategy Level (outcome and impact) ØThe MSDP-NIF is mainly focused at the strategy level.

Current Status of National Indicator Framework § § § CSO has been implementing the NIF, supported by UNDP. 286 indicators have been proposed by the 13 Task Teams covered in the Report, in average 10. 2 indicators per MSDP strategy. The share of SDG indicators is 41% and National indicators is 59%. Readily measurable indicators is 74%. The indicators for strategic level is 72% and the project level is 28%.

Metadata Development § To describe and give information about other data. § To describe definition of the indicators, calculation methods, data collection methods, sources of data, frequency of data collection and dissemination, and the date of data collection. § The twelve task teams are organized for the Metadata Process. § Kick-off Workshop was held on 17 Sep 2019. § First round consultation meeting was held from 18 Sep 2019 to 1 Oct 2019. § Second round meeting will held on Dec 2019.
