Portal del Empleo www. empleo. gob. mx Labor Intermediation and ICT § The labour link constitutes a substantive task for the National Employment Service (NES) in Mexico. The purpose is to provide employment opportunities for job seekers and help employers find human talent with the skills required to fill their vacancies. § The NES has focused its efforts on the development of projects that favour the incorporation of young people into the labour market. This includes the Portal del Empleo www. empleo. gob. mx, a web site with an online labour link service that provides information about employment, training and advice on the labour market.

Portal del Empleo www. empleo. gob. mx Objectives and services of the project § The Portal del Empleo www. empleo. gob. mx has as main objectives: ü Facilitates labor link between job seekers and job opportunities ü Gives more dissemination about available job offers ü Helps employers to fill their vacancies § Services offered by www. empleo. gob. mx are: ü Entirely free for job seekers and employers ü Tools for job and candidates search. ü Job offer suggestions online consistent with job seeker profile (% of compatibility or match). ü For job seekers, receive job offers via SMS messages and email ü Information about NES and Employment Fairs.

Portal del Empleo www. empleo. gob. mx Main Features of the Project ü Free service for companies and job seekers. ü Leading edge technology in development and data center. ü Search engines for job offers and job applicants. ü Match functionality that compares job applicant profiles with available vacancies. ü Interoperability with other portals and applications of NES. ü Interoperability with other labour exchanges and on line training as: Manpower, Adecco, OCCmundial, Fundación Carlos Slim, Procadist, Capacinet, etc. ü Content of interest for job seekers and companies. The National Employment Service in Mexico, besides this Project, offers to young people, the Observatorio Laboral Mexicano [Mexican Labour Observatory] www. observatoriolaboral. gob. mx, which is a free and reliable online service that provides information about the major professional careers in the country so they can make the best decisión on how to enter the labour market.

Portal del Empleo www. empleo. gob. mx Keys for its adoption… § Employment portals have transformed the way in which job seekers and companies are linked, making the labour market more transparent. § Launch the project with an electronic job board, and adopt little by little good practices observed in more robust employment portals and with greater acceptance among users. § Use consulting experts and outsourcing, both for the design of the project and the development, maintenance and accommodation of the portal. § Establish strategic alliances with portals of employment leaders that provide information on job offers, as this will strengthen the project. § Take advantage of administrative records information from the public employment offices, as well as the available statistical information generated by the Ministry of labour, in order to include information on labour market behaviour.
