Updated Action Plan of Punjab State for Control of Crop Residue Burning by Farmers As approved by Worthy Chief Secretary Punjab. The Main components of the Plan are as follows: I. CREATING AWARENESS AMONGST THE FARMERS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC II. PROVIDING APPROPRIATE RESIDUE/STRAW MANAGEMENT MACHINERY TO THE FARMERS III. DIVERSIFICATION OF CROPS IV. PROMOTING ALTERNATIVE USES OF PADDY STRAW V. INCENTIVES FOR ZERO BURNING OF PADDY STRAW VI. MONITORING OF FIRE INCIDENTS AND IMPOSITION OF ENVIRONMENTAL COMPENSATION Deputy Commissioners in the districts will be the nodal authority for implementing the action plan for stopping of crop residue/stubble burning by the farmers

Provided for demonstration. v Weedicides, Fungicides, Pesticides etc. are provided on subsidy @50% or Rs. 500/- hac. whichever is less. v New Machinery is provided to the farmer on subsidy v Seed Rs. 5000/Qtl. subsidy is provided to the farmers under Seed Village Scheme for production of good quality of seed

It should be kept at 90: 10.
