NASA SME Promotes International Observe the Moon Night (In. OMN) with Students & Educators Across the Nation Ø On October 2, 2019, Astromaterials Research and Exploration Science (ARES) scientist John Gruener shared his career path to NASA, including his inspiration as a young boy visiting a NASA center, as well as involvement and excitement about exploring the Moon. The interactive presentation shared information about the past, present, and future exploration of the Moon and highlighted the upcoming International Observe the Moon Night (In. OMN). Ø ~567 live participants and ~2050 archive participants were involved in the event. Participants were from 24 different states, Washington DC, Mexico and Canada and included students in grades Pre. K - 12+. Participant Quotes: v I am aware that most of the audiences are younger than my group of seniors, however, my students LOVE these webinars! When their questions are answered and get feedback, they get excited & feel happy to be included in the event. It often leads to more class discussion after the webinar, making the classroom a rich learning environment. v Have already used information I learned at a family program for In. Omn with pre-K. Little girls present want to be the girl to go to the moon in 2024! https: //ares. jsc. nasa. gov/interaction/webinars
