Alzheimer’s disease is a global epidemic.
About the Alzheimer’s Association® The Alzheimer’s Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. Our vision is a world without Alzheimer’s disease ™ and all other dementia.
Care and Support The Alzheimer’s Association offers reliable information and support for all those affected, including: • Our free 24/7 Helpline (800. 272. 3900). • ALZConnected® (alzconnected. org), our online networking community. • Support groups and education programs in communities nationwide (alz. org/CRF).
Concern and Awareness To inform and empower individuals facing Alzheimer’s, the Association: • Provides educational programs and workshops, including Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia and 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s. • Implements far-reaching campaigns to promote the power of early detection. • Hosts alz. org®, a vast repository of information, which receives over 2 million visits each month.
Advocacy The Association is the leading voice for Alzheimer’s and dementia advocacy at the state and federal level. • We work together with the Alzheimer’s Impact Movement (AIM), a separately incorporated advocacy affiliate of the Association; volunteer advocates around the country; and congressional champions on both sides of the aisle. • Alzheimer’s federal research funding has more than quadrupled since 2015 thanks to our collective efforts.
Research The Association is the world’s leading nonprofit funder of Alzheimer’s and dementia research: • Currently investing over $185 million in more than 540 active best -of-field projects in 30 countries. • Convening global research leaders to accelerate the progress of new treatments, preventions and, ultimately, a cure.
