Classroom Expectations: In the classroom, students are expected to respect the teachers and other students. Behavior expectations are further explained on the next page. Each Monday, beginning the third week of school, your child will have homework. I will send homework every monday. The homework should be returned to me by Friday. This year in math we will cover patterns, shapes, and counting. Our goal is to count to 30, but we will practice counting to 100. We will cover topics that include but not limited to investigation tools, growing, life cycle of ladybug, weather , and habitats. This school year we will be working on parts of a book, beginning sounds, writing skills, along with our learning our alphabet and letter sounds. Topics we will cover in community helpers, different cultures, and jobs.
Our Goals Snacks In pre-k we will focus on rules and procedures, social skills, learning to name and identify the alphabet, learning the sound each letter makes, counting to 30, identifying numbers 0 -10, gross and fine motor skills, colors, shapes, along with many other things. The children really enjoy and look forward to snack time each day. We ask that you send ( exp: pretzels, crackers, animal crackers, apple sauce) snacks for 20 students at the beginning of the month to ensure that the children have snacks each day. Folder Your child will take their folder home every day. The folder will include homework and their monthly calendar. We will use the calendar to let you know how your child's day was.
Classroom Expectations: In the classroom, students are expected to respect the teachers and other students. Each student’s behavior is monitored by using a behavior chart and conduct marks. On your child’s calendar there will be a code stating the reason your child did not receive a sticker that day. If a student fails to comply with the rules of the classroom, or misbehaves, the student will receive a mark. If the students receives 3 marks, the child's sticker will be removed from their folder. If the child continues with behavior parent contact will be made. Then a office referral if need be. If a student receives five stickers for the week, he or she will receive a prize from the prize box. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.
