No Judgment n Your acceptance or rejection of another's behaviour … is not helpful n No judgment fosters self acceptance n No judgment fosters safety
Acceptance n n Acceptance goes beyond no judgment Accept the person or situation without a desire to change
No Fixing/No advice n Advice is seldom taken n Your solution may not be his solution n n Fixing others teaches that a person can not fix themselves Fixing – builds dependence
No Questions n The most common reasons to ask questions are: • Desire to fix • Desire to influence others • Curiosity • To more fully understand a situation • Voyeurism • To take control of the interview
