Names: _________________ To Kill a Mockingbird: Characters Analysis and Town Map Poster Project (Due Tuesday, 12/20) Directions: The goal of this project is for students to further explore and analyze the culture of the town of Maycomb. The assignment consists of two main parts. First, students will create a brief but detailed biography of each character. Students will explain who the character is, then discuss how the character’s personality reflects the culture of the town. You must also find a direct quote from the text that illustrates each Character’s personality and role within the town. Once you have gathered all of your character info, you will then begin to draw a map of the town of Maycomb. The locations of the various places on your map should accurately reflect the descriptions of the town from the novel. For example, the novel specifically mentions that the Radley s’ yard touched the edge of the schoolyard Thus, any map that does not place these two locations next to each other would be incorrect. Draw a rough sketch of your town map on the attached graphic organizer. Once your character info and rough sketch have both been approved, you will be given a poster board. Your final poster must contain a well-drawn final draft of your town map, as well as final drafts of each of your character biographies. Eacg biography should be placed in an area on the map that is important to that character. You can either rewrite This info onto the map or paste the boxes from the graphic organizer onto the map. Your final poster should be neat, clearly labeled, colorful, and visually appealing. All information must be placed on the front of the map.
