Race and Economics in the US Wealth in the form of land was appropriated from the Indigenous peoples of this country and enslaved Africans were imported to the United States as the wealth of white Americans.
Founding of the NAACP The Springfield Race Riot of • Springfield, Illinois was a 1908 rapidly-growing industrial center at the turn of the century • Fierce job competition and the use of black workers as strike breakers during labor strikes caused increased tension • An attack by a white mob against the black section of Springfield spurred the creation of the NAACP
1910 – 1930’s: Great Migration African Americans migrated from the South to industrial cities in the North, Northeast and West to pursue better economic opportunities and escape the racism of the South.
1929 – 1940’s: Great Depression • The Great Depression was the longest and deepest economic crisis of the 20 th century. • The NAACP directed its focus to economic justice issues as the Great Depression was disproportionately disastrous for African Americans.

Assistant Manager Leadership Development Program Merrill Lynch Financial Advisor Program (Business Developer) Assistant Managers are responsible for learning, executing and leading each of the roles within the Banking Center. During this 12 -18 month rotational program, you will learn the fundamentals of the Banking Center in the following key roles: Personal Banker, Sales and Service Specialist, Assistant Manager, Teller Operations Specialist, and Banking Center Manager and you will be expected to meet and exceed aggressive sales goals and service targets. There is an intense training given that will cover all aspects of your responsibilities. In order to become a full-fledged Merrill Lynch Financial Advisor (FA) you must first complete a 43 month Practice Management Development (PMD) program that will engage you in all the roles required of a FA. For example you will be responsible for effectively obtaining and serving potential clients, capitalizing on referrals, assessing customer needs, delivering the full resources of Bank of America and Merrill Lynch to the client, and delivering highly customized solutions to meet client needs, In addition, advisors are responsible for providing recommendations on investment products and services that are suitable for prospects and clients while balancing investment management, sales activities, customer service, new client development and other administrative duties.
