From the western boarder to the Ural mountains is the North European Plain. This is a large rolling plain with rich soil and grasslands.

Government Russia's government is a federal semipresidential republic. This government is a multi party system with executive power. It is led by the prime minister appointed by the president. Climate Because of its size, most of Russia has only two seasons, summer and winter, with very short intervals of change between them. In the north east of russia, regions experience six months of snow cover permafrost that is as deep as several hundred meters.
