General Expectations +Students will follow the Wesley Way at all times We Act with

Expectations for Hallways • Students must walk on the right side of the hallway

Expectations for Hallways • Students must walk on the right side of the hallway and go directly to class. • Students may talk quietly but horseplay is not permitted. • Students may NOT use the restroom or go to their lockers during transition times. • PYP Hallways: • Students must walk silently in PYP hallways and be escorted by an adult. • This includes going to lunch, trailers and recess

Uniform Policy • Students must dress in full school uniform throughout the day. •

The only time that students will be allowed to wear sweatshirts or jackets is at recess and/or transitioning to recess. • Students who are in violation of the uniform code will have to borrow a “loaner” from the supply closet. • Homeroom teachers will keep track of uniform infractions. In addition to being required to wear a loaner item, disciplinary consequences will ensue:

READ IT! • The following behaviors may result in immediate suspension or potential expulsion: fighting, bullying, assault, alcohol/drugs, inappropriate physical contact, sexual harassment and bringing weapons on campus.

Actions and Consequences • The following behaviors are infractions of the Wesley Way Code of Conduct: Student Action Play Fighting/Hitting Fighting Spitting Sexually Inappropriate Behavior/Language Alcohol/Drugs Skipping Class Leaving the building during school hours Food Fight Inappropriate Language (Cursing, etc. ) Stealing Disrespect Chewing Gum Bullying Cell phone Teacher/Administrative Consequence Silent Lunch Immediate Discipline Referral Detention Counselor Referral Immediate Discipline Referral Suspension/Tribunal Discipline Referral No recess for 1 week Immediate Discipline Referral ISS Discipline Referral- ISS, Cafeteria Clean up No recess Discipline Referral Counselor Referral (1 st time) Discipline Referral (if more than once or ongoing) Silent Lunch Counselor Referral Must be picked up by a parent

Cell Phones • Students are not permitted to use cell phones at all during the school day. • This includes recess, lunch and transitions. • This means that you are not to use your cell phone for anything, including looking at the time, taking pictures, etc. • Your cell phone should not be visible AT ALL during the school day. • If your cell phone is out it will be confiscated and a parent or guardian must come retrieve it.

Classroom Tardies In addition to losing a dojo point, students will also receive the following consequences: • • • 1. Warning 2. Phone Call home 3. Silent Lunch 4. No Recess 5. Detention 6. Referral All students who are tardy must sign the tardy log by the door upon entering. If you are late and do not have a pass, you will be considered tardy!

Detention • Detention is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school in Ms. Cousin’s

Detention • Detention is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school in Ms. Cousin’s room. • Students will be assigned a detention date 48 hours after the incident. • Students who receive four detentions in a semester will be assigned to ISS for a ½ day the following Thursday.

DOJO • All teachers will use class dojo to monitor and track student behavior.

The following categories will be used by all teachers: • Positive Points: Principled, Risk Taker, Balanced, Knowledgeable, Thinker, Caring, Inquirer, Reflective, Communicator, Open-Minded • Needs Work: Disrespect (-2), Defiant (-2), Off-Task, Tardy, Homework, Dress Code, Prepared

Field Trips, Dances, Special Activities • These are considered special opportunities which you must

Field Trips, Dances, Special Activities • These are considered special opportunities which you must earn. Students may not be permitted to attend any of the above activities as a result of behavior infractions.

Athletics • Participating on an athletic team is a privilege that students must earn.

Athletics • Participating on an athletic team is a privilege that students must earn. • Students must maintain good standing with regard to behavior and academics. • Student athletes will be held to the following consequences: • *2 detentions/semester=Student will sit out for ¼ of the next game. • *3 detentions/semester=Student will miss ½ of the next game. Students will also be placed on probation, which may lead to dismissal from the team. • *4 detentions/semester=Student will be suspended from an entire game.

Celebrations • Throughout the year, we will reward students for positive behavior and academic

Celebrations • Throughout the year, we will reward students for positive behavior and academic progress. • The homeroom with the students who have the most positive dojo points and/or map board posts, will receive additional recognition. • THIS SHOULD BE ALL OF YOU!
