Subject I will be telling you about: • Nationals • Grad • Renovating my dads house • Seattle • Baby jace/became an aunt
Nationals I have been bowling since I was 8 years old and i have been competting for 5 years with my team. This year my team and I were fortuntae enough to make it to nationals in Calgary, Alberta. We bowled 21 games over a span of 3 days. They set the tournament up like a mini olympics and we represented our province. We walked in wearing our team uniforms and waving our BC flag. They live streamed some of the tournament for all the familys in Canada to watch, and two of our games were shown online. *Continued on next slide*
At the end of the tournament there were four teams in the running for first place and we ended up getting bronze. So we are third best junior girls team in Canada. One of the traditions at the very end of the tournament, is where you exchange one of your jerseys with a team member from another province. For example, I exchanged one of my BC team jerseys for a Quebec jersey. Overall it was an amazing experience, I got to meet new friends and coaches, got to learn new bowling cheers, got to proudly represent our province and I got to hangout with my team and party.
s e c a r B Over the summer I saw my Orthodontist and she said I need to get braces. It takes multiple appointiments and lots of money, but hopefully in two years I will have perfect straight teeth. In August my Mum took me to get molds of my teeth and lots of xrays and photos. She also arranged the rest of the appointments with the Orthodontist, so I only have to miss one afternoon of school. My next appointment is a consultation and the dentist will go over everything with my parents. Then I get spacers put between my teeth and bands. *Continued on next slide*
The last step and the longest, is where the braces/brackets glued to my teeth. After that I have to get the wires connected to the brackets. Now I will have to go to the dentist every six weeks to get my braces tightened. I am not thrilled about braces and it seems like there Is a lot of work and pain involved. But taking care of your teeth is important, so I am willing to endure the pain for the benefits at the end!
Renovating my Dads house This year my Dad sold his townhouse in Po. Co and bought a house in Mission. So we spent a lot of the summer doing renovations and turning the house into a home, where it feels like our own. The house is two levels, about 1, 800 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a baclony in the front of the house, a huge patio in the back, a carport and a big backyard. My Dad Derek and my Uncle Brad have built in the carport and turned it in to a gargae where they added some shelves for extra storage. We started the renovations in my new room, so I would have a bigger place to stay when I spent the weekends at my Dads. We ripped up the carpet, changed the lighting, changed all the electrical plugs, also all the coverings, and repainted. I chossed to paint my room a greye blue and have purple accents, and with a few accesicories it will evetually be my “dream room”! * Continued on the next slide*
Me painting my room!
Seattle My Dad absouletly LOVES baseball and plays on three different teams. I am their cheerleader and babysitter. Unfortunatley because of house renovations and ball games my Dad and I didn’t have the time for a proper vacation this year. But he did surprise me by taking me to Seattle to watch a Seattle Mariners game. We drove to Seattle in the morning and stayed in a nice hotel with vending machines, a big pool and breakfast. After we arrived at the hotel to check in and drop our bags, we went to go look for Pike Place Market but we got lost several times lol. We did eventually find it and then we went to Safeco field to watch the Mariners game. I got a team shirt from Target to wear and eventhough my Dad wanted to leave the game 1 ining before it was over, I still had a fantastic time. The next day we went to Bellis Fair Mall to do some shopping and I got a few items. It was just a short trip but we had a really fun time and it was a great daddy-daughter time.
I became an Aunt! My favorite moment this summer was becoming an Aunt. My older sister Laura was pregnant and she just gave birth one week ago! It was exciting following her pregnancy, along with her weird cravings and feeling the baby kick. We had a big baby shower for her in August and it was a lot of fun. All of her friends and family showed up. We played baby themed games and ate tons of sweet goodies. My sister Laura has the nursery all decorated. The theme of the room is Monkeys and the colors are brown, grey & green. She knows that they are having a baby boy and they chosed the name Jace. *Continued on the next slide*
She was in labour for a very long time and had to be induced. But baby Jace was born happy and healthy!!!! Jace was 7 lbs and 11 onces with blonde hair and was really cute!. When I found out that jace was born I couldn’t wait to see him
