My Planet Project: Jupiter By: Ethan Winkler
Jupiter’s Size • Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. It is roughly eleven Earth diameters wide. You can also fit 1, 300 earths inside Jupiter. That is one big planet!
Jupiter’s Properties • This planet was named after the Roman god Jupiter. It is because Jupiter was the most powerful Roman god of all of the Roman gods. Jupiter takes about 12 earth years to make a revolution. Although, it spins the fastest in our solar system. .
What Jupiter is Made of and Look Like • A gas giant (Jupiter is one of them. ) is a planet that is made of gas. Jupiter’s core is made of metal and silcon, but no one really knows what Jupiter’s core looks like. You may think Jupiter is round, but it isn’t. I had no clue about those things!
Jupiter Facts • Jupiter has 63 moons because its gravity pulls meteors in. So, the moons keep coming in. It is also in antiquity, which means it is ancient. This planet has sources of H 2 O. Like most planets, Jupiter spins counter-clockwise.
Jupiter’s Storms • Jupiter is famous for its hurricanelike storms. The most famous storm is the Big Red Spot. It is two Earth diameters wide. Being the biggest storm on Jupiter, that must make a lot of damage.
Jupiter’s Rings • Last, but not least, Jupiter has three rings. They are made of dust kicked up from interplanetary meteoroids. The first ring is a ring called Halo. The second ring is called the main ring. The last ring is called Gossamer Ring. I didn’t know Jupiter had rings!
