My Hero Title Slide • Objectives: Students are expected to be able to: 1. Describe the characteristics of a hero. 2. Recognize the hero in a story. 3. Name heroes in their lives and express why those people are heroes to them. 4. Use a computer to access the Internet, find and read stories on the MY HERO Website. 5. Distinguish between a hero and a celebrity.

My Hero-Title Slide • Choose a background • Type in your title, My Hero, and your hero’s name. • Type in your name and today’s date • Select font and size

My Hero-1 st Slide • Definition, description of a hero, keep it short: http: //www. merriamwebster. com/dictionary/hero • Go to the internet and find a real picture of something that would represent the qualities of a hero

My Hero-2 nd Slide • Recognize a hero in a story, use a quote from that story or just the story name: Atticus Finch, To Kill a Mockingbird • Find a picture of that hero and insert it into the slide

My Hero-3 rd Slide • Name a hero in your life, describe briefly why this is your hero. • Use symbols or the picture and add it to your slide

My Hero-4 th slide • Describe the difference between heroes and celebrities.

My Hero-5 th Slide • Your choice on this last slide. Think about publishing this for a larger audience, how would you conclude your message?
