MY GOALS FOR THE FUTURE By Carmela Dizon

PRESENT • I am a grade 10 student in Riverside Secondary school, I am in French immersion. • I play for division 1 PCEFC soccer, as a goalkeeper. • I have a passion for travelling and have been to 11 different countries. • I am currently signed with KKT agency for theatre and acting and VVA for voice over acting.

IN 5 YEARS • I would be in my third year as a flight attendant. • I will begin studying law at UVIC to get my Juris Doctor Degree. • I would be living with my cabin crew in crash pads but I would also be saving up to find my own apartment that I could rent. • A big challenge for me is to try and become vegetarian, 5 years from now.

IN 10 YEARS • I would have already quit my job as a flight attendant and have graduated from law school. I would now be employed as a family and divorce lawyer. • I would like to be happily married by 24. The wedding would be in Greece and the following few months would be travelling across Europe. I would also like to own an apartment with my husband. • The next few years will be an alternate between travelling, exploring, finding inner peace, and of course, working. • I would like to work my way up to working at a metropolitan law firm.

IN 15 YEARS • I would be working at a metropolitan law firm, preferably in Vancouver. • I would like to already have 2 or 3 children with very close age gaps. • I would go on weekly hikes and runs with my family to stay in shape. I would also meditate and do yoga to relieve as much stress as I could. • My biggest goal during these years is to buy a house that’s suitable for my family of 5.

IN 20 YEARS • I would like to already have 4 or 5 children. To stay in shape, I would coach my kids’ soccer team. • I would like to be successful in my career and save up for my children’s schooling. • I would also be focused on my family and make sure that my kids find a passion that they would like to pursuit. • Over one summer, I would like to take my family to a month long vacation in Bali.
