Starry, Starry night Esplendorosa noche de estrellas paint your palette blue and grey pinta de azul y gris tu paleta de pintor

look out on a summer's day miras en un día de verano

with eyes that know the darkness in my soul. con ojos que conocen la oscuridad en mi alma. Shadows on the hills, Sombras en las colinas,

sketch the trees and the daffodils, bosquejas los árboles y los narcisos, catch the breeze and the winter chills captas la brisa y el frío invernal

in colors on the snowy linen land. en colores sobre la nevada y alineada tierra And now I understand Y ahora comprendo

what you tried to say to me qué intentaste decirme

how you suffered for your sanity cómo sufriste por tu cordura how you tried to set them free. y cómo intentaste liberarles a ellos.

They would not listen, they did not know how No te escucharían, no sabían cómo

perhaps they'll listen now. pero quizás te escucharán ahora.

Starry, starry night Esplendorosa noche de estrellas

flaming flowers that brightly blaze flores llameantes que arden con intenso brillo

swirling clouds in violet haze reflect in nubes violetas que remolineantes reflejan Vincent's eyes of China blue. . los ojos azul china de Vicent.

Colors changing hue Colores cambiando de tono

morning fields of amber grain campos matinales de granos ámbar

weathered faces lined in pain caras sufrientes alineadas en dolor are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand. se tranquilizan bajo la mano amorosa del pintor.

. And now I understand Y ahora comprendo

what you tried to say to me qué intentaste decirme how you suffered for your sanity cómo sufriste por tu cordura how you tried to set them free. y cómo intentaste liberarles a ellos.

They would not listen, they did not know how No te escucharían, no sabían cómo perhaps they'll listen now. pero quizás te escucharán ahora.

For they could not love you Ellos no pudieron amarte

but still your love was true y aún así, tu amor fue verdadero and when no hope was left in sight cuando ya no había esperanza on that starry night, en esa noche de esplendorosas estrellas,

You took your life as lovers often do; Llevaste tu vida a donde los amantes continuamente la llevan; But I could have told you, Vincent Pero podría haberte dicho, Vincent this world was never meant for one as beautiful as you. que este mundo nunca fue concebido para alguien tan bello como tú.

Starry, starry night Esplendorosa noche de estrellas

portraits hung in empty halls retratos colgados en pasillos vacíos

frameless heads on nameless walls cabezas sin marco en paredes sin nombre

with eyes that watch the world and can't forget. con ojos mirando al mundo sin poder olvidar. Like the stranger that you've met Como aquel extraño al que conociste

the ragged men in ragged clothes los desgarrados hombres en desgarradas ropas

the silver thorn of bloddy rose la espina plateada de sangrante rosa lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow. reposa aplastada y rota sobre la virgen nieve.

And now I think I know Y ahora creo que sé what you tried to say to me qué intentaste decirme how you suffered for your sanity cómo sufriste por tu cordura

how you tried to set them free. y cómo intentaste liberarles a ellos. They would not listen, they're not list'ning still. . . No escucharían, y aún. . . no están escuchando. . .

perhaps they never will. y quizás nunca lo harán.
