MUSCLE MOVEMENTS
Muscles, bones, and joints permit movements that vary in direction and degree of range. Review the movements in Power Point 6 C (slides 1 -22) basic movements (may be performed at more than one location: flexion can be performed by the arms at the elbow or leg at the hip and the knee) special movements (usually performed at one location: dorsiflexion is only performed by the foot)
Assignment Create a video that serves as demonstration on the CORRECT way to perform designated muscle movements (also known as SYNOVIAL movements). Each student will perform 3 muscle movements (they can be any combination of basic or special movements). Your end product will be submitted via a video on Instagram.
Assignment Requirements Student choice: you may work alone or in a group of 2 -3 students Each student will perform 3 muscle movements (if working in a group, no movements can be duplicated among group members). -movement names must be SPOKEN as you perform them
Assignment Video Posting -Posting account cannot be private (no, I will not view any other videos/photos). If your account is private, I cannot view and grade your assignment. -List your name(s) (first or last name only) and class period in the comments -Post DURING your class period on Wed, March 5 (do not post on Tues, Thurs, 8 pm, etc) -Include the tag #DHSmusclemoves in your comments; without this tag, I cannot grade your assignment!
Assignment Tips & Hints Have a classmate/non group member shoot your video. Read the definition of the various terms and practice ALL of them before deciding on your final three… you have to know them all anyway. Demonstrate for a classmate and get feedback to determine that you’re performing your movement correctly before shooting your video You may be able to find videos of muscle movements (also called SYNOVIAL movements) if you do some internet research! If you don’t have an Instagram account, have a friend post your video or get one just for this assignment
