What makes a library? ‘‘Books, shelves, light, and the place. ’’ ‘‘ I imagined a place encircled by a single bookshelf in the form of a spiral. . ’’ - Sou Fujimoto This simple idea of the library made Sou fujimoto’s design win the compition of the Musashino Academy of Art organised for the University library.
LOCATION
• All the walls of the library inside and outside consist of huge bookshelves made of light wood. • On the façades they are encased by a layer of glass.

• Rotates and Extends either outwards or inwards.
Light • Evenly filtered natural light from above enters the library through polycarbonate panels, creating cozy reading areas.
