Activities over the past week • Completed the replacement of damaged 10 mm - 10 lens with 10 mm - 11. • Successfully tested the new lens with the beam on • Power supply DQ 806 tripped off last Sunday and was not resetting – Did not affect g-2 experiment since it had problems with one of their kickers (K 3). Fixed early next day • Monday-Thursday we were on a standby mode and ready to deliver beam to the experiment – Used this time for doing orbit studies along the M 1 line • Resumed beam delivery to g-2 on Thursday evening 2 Diktys Stratakis | Muon Campus Status 3/22/19

Testing the new Lithium Lens • Target Station work was complete last Friday afternoon • We powered the Lithium Lens and Pulsed Magnet and did a check-out and initial tune-up with beam • Decided to run 8 bunches for now. Return to g-2 operations • Delivery to g-2 started Thursday afternoon • Beam profiles at the end of the M 5 look similar to the ones before the lens failure 4 Diktys Stratakis | Muon Campus Status 3/222019

Upcoming Plan • Carry out a gradient versus yield measurement as soon as the g-2 Ring can store muons efficiently, which will be useful in making the decision on what current to operate the lens at in the days ahead. • Continue delivering beam to g-2 – Support experiment’s preparation for normal operations – Accelerator studies as time allows 5 Diktys Stratakis | Muon Campus Status 3/222019
