Muncie and Delaware County Census Council

WHO The Muncie and Delaware County Census Council is a group of local community leaders, nonprofit representatives, and funders who are working together to promote residents’ participation in the 2020 United States Census.

WHAT The Council explores opportunities to promote the census, encourage communitywide participation so that everyone is counted, and brainstorm ideas and partners to assist the people most-likely to be missed through today’s census process.

WHY Each person counted brings roughly $2, 700 in federal program dollars through programs such as Medicaid and Medicare, highway planning and construction, and education grants.

CENSUS CELEBRATION A community-wide Census Celebration will be happening from March 28 th to April 5 th. Organizations and people around Muncie and Delaware County will be hosting events to facilitate and celebrate getting counted for the 2020 United States Census.
