Project Purpose and Schedule • First painting since bridge opened in 1958 • Paint steel on 4 river spans and span between Eastbank Esplanade and river spans • Repair steel • Most work is below the deck • Construction: Jan. 2021 – Nov. 2022

Traffic Impacts • Some uncertainty until contractor hired this fall: • Fewer lane closures if river barges used Highlights: • 3 -4 traffic lanes open (except weekend/night closures) • 1 -month closure of two ramps (from Naito & to Water Ave. ) in Fall 2021 • South shared path: • 1 -month closure and detour in Fall 2021 • Some night/weekend closures • Erect work bridges above path to keep it open at most times • Alternate routes: Hawthorne & Burnside bridges

Vehicle Weight and Height Limits • Height: When painting sign structures above lanes, maximum vehicle height is 14’-6” (from Sep. -Dec. 2021) • Weight: During repairs, Type 3 25 T is max limit • Alt Route from CEIC to I -5 South = TBD
River Traffic • • Single leaf drawbridge openings while each leaf is painted About 4 months per leaf Similar to recent deck project County will provide vessels a tugboat assist if needed
