Multiple Meaning Words are words that have several meanings depending upon how they are used in a sentence. We use CONTEXT CLUES to help us figure out which meaning is correct.

Steps to identify multiple meaning words ¨ Read the underlined word. ¨ Read the sentence. ¨ Look at clues in the sentence to figure out the meaning of the underlined word. ¨ Re-read the sentence to make sure your meaning makes sense.
