GENERAL VIEW ON PROJECTING STABILITY Stabilization is defined as the process by which support is given to places descending into or emerging from violent conflict. This is achieved by: preventing or reducing violence; protecting people and key institutions; promoting political processes, which lead to greater stability and preparing for longer-term development; and non-violent politics. GENERAL VIEW ON PROJECTING STABILITY Stabilization activities encompass actions undertaken by or in coordination with indigenous national authorities, mandated authorities or other civil agencies to maintain or bring about a safe environment. Multi-agency involvement in stabilizing a crisis is impossible without adequate security and the provision of a permissive environment. CONCLUSIONS • NATO projecting stability in the southern neighborhood needs a cohesive and indivisible efforts (29 x 29, 24/7, through 360°) • A close Cooperation with International Actors will remain extremely important to project stability in the MENA region. • A strong and effective NATO coordination is required to synchronize and synergize different projecting activities which can range from operations to partnership activities.
