Emphasis • Emphasis means to put stress on a word or a group of words to give them more importance. Emphasis gives a word greater importance, significance than other element in a certain group of text.

Emphasis Example • This poster of the movie Thor has a lot of emphasis

Emphasis Example • This poster of the movie Thor has a lot of emphasis of the text THOR. It also has a use of color that really draws you in to the text. Some of the modes that it uses are Linguistic and Visual because the word Thor is written and the color red used is to add more of a visual effect. • Also this movie poster of Kickass show a lot on emphasis on the size that they used on the word Kickass. With the text being placed in the background it still gets more attention than the rest of the text that is presented.
